Growing up in rural Washington state, Branden was always interested in technology. He spent his free time as an adolescent and teenager tearing apart old computers and other pieces of technology to learn how they worked and how to repair them. In Highschool he took every technology class that was offered, but he fell in love with Tech Support and Data Networking.
After graduating from high school, he started his technology career by programming, installing, and supporting Point of Sale systems for restaurants. While he learned a lot during his 4 years of doing this, he decided to build his skill set by studying for and obtaining industry certifications and taking college courses. Over the next 2 years he gained several certifications such as the Cisco CCNA, CompTia A+, SonicWall Certified Security Administrator, and several Microsoft certifications as well as graduating with honors from the local community college with 2 Associates Degrees in Data Networking and Systems Administration.
He then began working at an I.T. managed services company where he worked his way up the ranks to Senior Systems Engineer. His client base ranged from Senior Living Management companies, to non-profits, manufacturing firms, and law firms. His knowledge and customer service skills impressed one of his Senior Living Management clients who approached him with an offer to build and head their I.T. department. Having spent a lot of time with his grandparents as a child, he was excited at the prospect of supporting those that care for the aging family members of others. After 5 years with the MSP, he moved into the role of I.T. Director for a large Senior Living Management company.
Over the next 10 years Branden built the I.T. department up to a staff of 3 technicians supporting 800+ end users and the systems of 50+ Senior Living Communities. He implemented processes and tools to make the support of the I.T. Infrastructure of the company and their managed senior living communities’ more efficient while always focusing on customer service. His role ever evolving, he became involved in the design and installation of I.T. systems for senior living buildings that were being built from the ground up. As his reputation for customer service and broad I.T. support skillset grew, other companies were approaching him for I.T. services. This lead to the first clients for One Extra Consulting.
In his spare time he enjoys nature, spending time with his wife and twin sons, as well as collecting and repairing classic arcade games.
